This is Spinal Tap (1984)

1“It’s such a fine line between stupid and clever.”

This is Spinal Tap is Rob Reiner’s first feature film as well as one of the first mockumentarys ever made. The film follows the fictional band, Spinal Tap, as they tour the US in 1982. The film is a commentary on 1980s glam rock bands and their extravagance and egotism.

One of my favorite bands is Motley Crue, so I am a bit of a fan of the glam rock era. The more you know of the music and bands of that time, the more you will enjoy Spinal Tap. While Spinal Tap is fictional it is based in fact. Events that happen in the film come straight out…
